Travel Experience During the Pandemic

Hello guys! Recently, for some reason, I went to San Diego. While I would not recommend this traveling during the pandemic, should you need to go anywhere for any reason, I am here to give you a guide of what to expect, and how to stay safe, and also how to enjoy yourself if you are taking a vacation. While my experience may differ from yours because of where I actually went, it will be the same general type of precautions. So let us get started.

Things different at the airport and on the plane

Many things have changed at the airport, especially where I went. Most small shops have been closed. Everyone, as expected, was wearing masks. There were sanitization centers at every corner and every shop. Many other small yet major changes were that every other seat was blocked off,

the tape was put on the floor to help with social distancing, and there was a lot of propaganda and reminders to social distance. Boarding was also a bit different, only letting one to a few families in at a time. As for the actual plane, not much was changed except for the fact masks must be on at all time unless taking a brief bite or sip and only small snacks, not large trays of food, was served. Deboarding was much the same, except we had to wait for everyone in front of us to exit before we could get up.

Things different at the hotel

Hotels were fairly the same. We took a taxi(with masks of course), and arrived at the hotel. Surprisingly, it was booked. Masks were required everywhere in the hotel except for when you were in the actual pool, and when you were in your room. Yes, the pools were still open! However and unfortunately, the spas and fitness rooms were closed, although they had some fitness classes outside. The elevators had new rules too. There could only be 2 people, social distancing in the elevator, or one family. This did make for a minor setback, but no doubt helped us stay safe. The hotel had some outdoor restaurants, but they were mostly open for outdoor seating, and you could order food from your room. Anything you needed would be delivered to your door.

Things different in general

In general, the rules were the same as everywhere else. Wear masks unless eating. Only outdoor dining or takeout is allowed. We did some water sports over there, and the rules were pretty much the same. In resorts, you can get discounts and things such as SUP boards and kayak rentals. Wear masks when renting, and take off when actually doing the sport. This is mostly applied everywhere else. Unfortunately, places like Seaworld and other theme and water parks were closed due to California state regulations or were simply open, but too crowded and less safe to go to. Now that you know what it was like, it is time to know what we can still enjoy.

But what can you actually do?

Since we’ve talked about how things are different, let’s talk about what we can do during this time. Even though waterparks were closed(and Seaworld at limited capacity, there are still many fun things you can do, especially in San Diego. Most of these are water sports. In one of the hotels I stayed at, the Hyatt, some parts of the hotel were booked, but these days, there are much fewer people. As you can see in the picture below, barely anyone is in the pool. The hotel was doing a good job at capacity limiting.

The waterslides were still working, and all pools were open at a limited capacity. You can also go do multiple water sports as shown below. As I mentioned, discounts are included with resorts

We also did non-water sports, like biking. There are many electric scooter rentals around the area, as well and both e-bike and regular bike, and surreys, shown below.

In addition to that, when we stayed near mission bay, there was a theme park that was closed, but there was a boardwalk to go with it called Belmont Park. We walked on the boardwalk, which was pretty empty, but the shops and other boardwalk games were open, so we still managed to have fun there. There was also a beach. When we moved closer to the marina, we saw a very interesting maritime museum, with real ships!

Finally, we visited the Hilton hotel on Coronado Island. We saw an amazing hotel, as well as the surrounding beach where we saw this awesome sculpture:

We also saw a lovely sunset at that beach.

What to avoid and how to enjoy

The biggest thing I would say is to AVOID crowded places. This sounds like a given, but unfortunately, some people don't like wearing masks, and they might get too close to you. For these reasons, unless otherwise, I would opt out of places like Seaworld. However, as places are open, if you are staying in a hotel or a restaurant that has patio dining, try to enjoy eating outside, instead of your hotel room. Also, some hotels will have outside pools. If they do, enjoy that as much as you can.

Well, that’s all for this blog folks! If you have any questions about traveling experiences in the pandemic, say them in the comments, and I will try to get back to you!.

Social Distancing: Online School Because of the Coronavirus and social distancing, it is no surprise that the government has switched to online schools. This change is a new educational experience for almost everybody, so I wanted to look at how different schools are educating their students or providing on-line instruction. Since my school is already associated with Khan Academy, we transitioned to online school more easily. Also, since this is a new experience for us all, I wanted to explore how different schools are adapting to the new change. Private: Nearly the same as a public school, a private school will most likely follow the same schedule, if not change it a bit. Since you go to a private school, you might have a different, mixed up schedule. For me, I have a schedule that has some classes, then some breaks, and then free time to work on my homework. This formula works virtually the same way. For most of you, especially those who are using Zoom, during thei
Corona Time: Things you can do during social distancing Alright, so as most of you know, there is a pandemic going around the earth by the name of the “coronavirus”. Due to the virus and attempts to contain the spread, people have been practicing this strange new thing called “Social Distancing.” Now, this doesn’t sound like your average try to stay away from your weird friend. So what is it? Well, social distancing is where you stay at home, going for the occasional walk, to contain the spread of the virus. Social distancing may sound like a free ticket for “screen time”, but overall, this should not be the case. There are many challenges people are facing. These include not being to see your friends in person, not being able to travel, being forced to stay inside your house for longer periods of time. However, we can overcome these challenges. You can have a virtual playdate with your friend(see below). You can watch movies with your family, play board games, or read

Making A Robot: My First Time Experience

Okay, so being stuck at home, means for most people, you need something fun, productive, and creative, and somewhat challenging to do. My mother bought me something that is all those things in one. Say hello to the Meccano XL 2.0 Personal robot: It really is an amazing thing. While it can be frustrating, It is totally worth it. I just wanted to kind of go over what building something like a robot may be at this, some tips, and recommendation, not specifically this on particular robots, but for building things in general. Let's get started. First Let me talk about my experience building this robot before we get to tips and recommendations. So just a heads-up, when you first start building something, not everything is going to go as planned. Stuff is going to happen along the way that will upset and annoy you. Don't let that get to you. Throughout this, I probably had to screw and re-screw over 100 times. It's not going to be easy, but make sure you keep
